Mary Lee Gowland, Jane Cocke Perdue and Sue Dyke at the Hill Country Poets table. It was a lovely, sunny day, no rain.
Our first experience having a table at Kerr County Market Days was a lot of fun.  Mary Lee set up tables at 8:00 a.m. and was relieved that a canopy was available, after all, as it looked like it might rain.

We sold ten Hill Country Poets anthologies and Mary Lee sold her memoir and other books. Jane Perdue's  books are available online. Leahanna was out of town on her own book tour.

When Mary Lee left to get a bite to eat, Karen covered the table. A little girl stopped by, attracted by the yellow cover of "Surprise Yourself!" Fun Writing Exercises for Today's Kids."

Karen asked the little girl if she had ever written a poem.  The little girl said yes. Karen asked, "Did you ever say it out loud to anyone?" The little girl shook her head.  "Well, try it," Karen said, "and see the look on their faces when you do."  What a wonderful thing to say to an aspiring poet!
